The Easiest Cozy Banana Bread

HELLO

Easy Cozy Banana Bread

A simple, beginner-friendly banana bread recipe for cozy mornings, slow afternoons, and making your home smell like a little bakery.

There’s something so comforting about homemade banana bread. It’s warm, nostalgic, simple, and honestly one of the easiest ways to make your home feel intentional and cozy without doing anything overly complicated.

This recipe is perfect for my fellow Type B moms, beginner bakers, or anyone who has a few overripe bananas sitting on the counter waiting for their moment.

I loosely follow the classic recipe, but over time I’ve made a few little adjustments that work perfectly for our family, namely adding extra bananas and using a mix of brown sugar and granulated sugar for extra softness and flavor.

THE RESULT?

A soft, moist banana bread that tastes and makes your whole kitchen smell amazing…..

What You’ll Need

Ingredients

  • 3–5 overripe bananas (the spottier the better)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup sugar total
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
(I don’t measure perfectly and neither should you)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Optional Add-Ins

  • Chocolate chips
  • Chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Cinnamon
  • A sprinkle of flaky salt on top

Directions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan.

Step 2: Mash the Bananas

In a large bowl, mash your overripe bananas with a fork until mostly smooth.

This is a great step for toddlers to help with too.

Step 3: Add the Wet Ingredients

Stir in:

  • melted butter
  • egg
  • vanilla extract

Mix until combined.

Step 4: Add the Dry Ingredients

Add:

  • baking soda
  • salt
  • sugars
  • flour

Stir gently until just combined. Don’t overmix.

Step 5: Pour & Bake

Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 6: Cool & Enjoy

Allow the banana bread to cool slightly before slicing.

Or don’t…lol
Warm banana bread with butter is one of life’s greatest joys.
